New Koro Filipino Site Showcase
Last night at our May meetup even, Jaymie, Niña, and Leanne shared their capstone project for the DMIT program at NAIT. It’s a new website (and the first) for Koro Filipino Edmonton, which has been putting on choral concerts since 1991.
Many of Koro’s members attended the meetup, and I joked that we should have had them sing to start or close the event. You can in fact hear Koro sing on Whyte Ave next Saturday, June 7, at 3:30pm. They will be performing at the grand opening of DRTY Ice Cream‘s location on the southeast corner of Whyte and Gateway — it’s one of the shops in the sea cans by Station Park.

After finishing at NAIT, Jaymie tells me she will be moving to Calgary to take a position as a developer at Freshwater Creative, so extra congrats for that Jaymie! The Calgary WordPress Meetup has some great people and could use a little support too, nudge nudge.
Next month we’ll be hearing from another DMIT graduate and member of the Meetup, John Jovero. John is going to talk about WooCommerce and demo a site he’s built. Come ready to dig in with technical questions.
